Kia Reveals Telluride Name For Their Detroit Motor Show Concept

Kia Telluride large SUV concept teased for the second time ahead of its Detroit Motor Show debut!

Kia Motors America has released the second teaser image of their large SUV concept, which is scheduled to make its inaugural U.S. debut at the 2016 North American International Auto Show next week.

Additionally, the South Korean automaker also revealed the name of their upcoming SUV concept.

To be called Telluride, the concept vehicle signals Kia’s comeback into the large SUV segment and previews a possible production version of the next-generation Kia Borrego.

As you may remember, Kia dropped the Borrego SUV from its lineup back in 2011.

Kia Telluride

The upcoming Telluride SUV concept takes its name from the Colorado town known for its gorgeous mountains and famous ski resorts.

The first teaser shot, released on to the web a couple of days ago, offered us a glimpse of the concept’s side profile design, while the second one provides a sneak preview of the Telluride interior design.

As evident from the picture here, the upcoming Kia Telluride boasts a futuristic dashboard design with an entirely digital gauge cluster and a generous infotainment display.

The concept also highlights automaker’s first use of 3D-printed components, which add a distinct, modern design element to the dashboard, door panels, and steering wheel.

According to Kia’s official press release, the Telluride concept will be officially unveiled on Monday, January 11, in Detroit.

  1. The interior looks a lot better than the Cross GT concept. The exterior reminds me of a Range Rover with some Kia Soul in it. I like the name. It sounds very aggressive and competitive like the other premium mid size SUVs. I hope it is RWD. I do like the new name too. It sounds aggressive. “Mojave” name still king of all truck names though. I loved that name.
