Kia releases full details on the 2016 Soul crossover vehicle changes and enhancements.

The Kia Soul has always been a car with some real style, but the 2016 model is taking it to the next level with a pair of optional packages that add a ton of style and convenience features, some of which are usually found on the Kia luxury sedans.

Customization will also be made available, thanks to the Designer Collection that allows the customer to add unique elements such as two-tone paint!

The Soul continues to come in 3 great trim levels: Base, Plus, and Exclaim. All three will have new features added for the 2016 model year.

Kia Soul 2016The 2016 Kia Soul Base model comes standard with the Convenience Package, which features a 4.3-inch color touchscreen with integrated Rear Camera Display and Sirius XM Satellite Radio.

There are even more standard features on the 2016 Kia Soul Plus model, such as fog lights, integrated Rear Camera Display, and gloss black bumper ‘tusks.’

The Designer Collection package draws its inspiration from the all-electric Soul EV.

The highlight here is the addition of two-tone paint. Choose from a white exterior with a red roof, or a red exterior with a black roof.

That’s not all, though, as the Designer Collection also comes with 18-inch alloy wheels complete with black spokes. You also get a leather-wrapped steering wheel and gearshift knob.

Leather trimmed seats are now a standard feature on the 2016 Soul Exclaim.

A new addition for the range-topping Exlaim trim level is the Premium Package, which features lane departure warning system -LDSW and forward collision warning system.

This represents the first time that either of these technologies have been made available for the Kia Soul.

Cameras are at the heart of the LDWS, and are used to monitor the position of the Soul. Visual and auditory warnings are delivered to the driver when he steers a little too close to the lane markers.

Comfort features are also part of the Premium Package, and they include an Infinity sound system, navigation, panoramic sunroof, LED front speaker surround with mood lighting, 10-way power adjustable driver’s seat, ventilated front seats, seat heaters in all 4 outboard seats, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel and gearshift knob.

2016 Kia Soul Umber Color package

Another great option is the interior Umber Color Package, which can be matched to the Shadow Black, Titanium, Fathom Blue, or Cloud White exterior colors.

The package now comes with HID projector headlights, as well as Nappa leather seating surfaces and armrest accents.

The engine options are the same as the 2015 model. The Base Soul comes equipped with a 1.6-liter 4-cylinder GDI engine that delivers 130-hp and 118-lb.-ft. of torque.

This engine comes standard with a 6-speed manual transmission, and the option for a 6-speed automatic.

The Plus and Exclaim models move up the more powerful 2.0-liter NU engine that cranks out 164-hp and 151 lb.-ft. of torque. The exclusive transmission for this engine is the 6-speed automatic.

As you can see, the 2016 Kia Soul changes have added even more value to a vehicle that was already at the top of the list in that regard.
