2016 Kia K5 To Go On Sale In Korea With 2 Different Front Fascia Designs
Kia Motors Korea announced local consumers will now be able to start placing pre-orders for the all new 2016 Kia K5 sedan ( known as Optima in the US market).
Those who get in early and order the new K5 before September will reap some nice benefits.
Kia is offering up to 800,000 won in benefits, with such goodies as JBL speakers valued at 200,000 won, as well as no monthly service charges for owners installing the UVO 2.0 navigation program.
It has now been 5 years since the launch of the K5, and this fully redesigned model represents the second generation.
The sedan also comes with a host of premium features that include an autonomous braking system and a wireless cellphone charger.
New Kia K5 boasts two different front fascia designs
There are a pair of different front fascia designs to choose from.
The K5 SX has a sportier sense of style, while the K5 MX is all about luxury.
A total of 5 engines have been made available for the K5.
With the MX you have a choice of a 2.0L gasoline engine, a 1.7L diesel, or a 2.0L liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) engine.
The SX model gets the sportier turbocharged 1.6L and 2.0-liter engines.
The 1.6-liter turbo and 1.7-liter diesel engines are mated to Kia’s new 7-speed Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT).
Pricing for the gas models goes from 22.35 million won to 29 million won. The 1.6-liter turbo models come in at 25.1 – 28.5 million won, while the 2.0-liter turbo models go for 31.05 – 31.45 million won.
K5 hybrid, plug-in hybrid coming…
We have already talked about the more fuel efficient versions of the K5 sedan, the K5 hybrid car and plug-in version.
Expect to see a K5 hybrid model before the end of the year, as well as a plug-in hybrid in early 2016.
The addition of these models will take the K5 engine family to 7 members.
