2014 Kia Quality Ratings And Rankings Compared To Other Brands And Vehicles
The 2014 Initial Car Quality Study (IQS) has been released by J.D. Power, and Kia has a pair of vehicles represented.
The Kia Sportage ranked first in the Small SUV category, while the Cadenza appeared at the top of the Large Car segment.
Furthermore, Kia jumped 4 spots from last years ranking to now sit tied for 6th out of 32 brands overall.
The 2014 Sportage tied for first in its segment for the second straight year, while the Cadenza took top spot in the prestigious large car segment.
John Crowe, vice president, service & aftersale operations, Kia Motors America (KMA), said that the results of the study show just how committed Kia are to maintaining a high level of quality across their brand.
He pointed to the Sportage and Cadenza as perfect examples of just how far Kia has come in terms of design, performance, and sophistication, not to mention value.
There were lots of things for Kia to love about the study results besides their highest ever quality ranking.
The score that the Cadenza received was the second best for any Kia model.
All told, 86,118 respondents had their answers analyzed, with 23 segments covering 239 vehicles part of the study.
Among the things covered in the study were engine performance, driving experience, and a host of other potential problems that a vehicle might face.
The car comes with a number of premium features that are not normally found in a Kia car.
The Cadenza is powered by a 3.3 liter V6 GDI engine, delivering 293-hp.
Inside, you will find the second generation UVO eServices infotainment systems, as well as an 8-inch satellite navigation display that also shows images from a backup camera.
Also included is SiriusXM satellite radio, a backup warning system, Bluetooth connectivity, a 12-speaker Infinity audio system, steering wheel mounted controls, keyless entry, and much, much more.
The Limited trim level or the optional Luxury Package comes with advanced smart cruise control, leather-trimmed seats, electronic parking brake, and more.
You get the starter model for a mere $35,100 MSRP, the Luxury Package version at $38,100, and the Limited trim level for just $42,400.
About the 2014 Sportage
The base LX trim level of the Sportage comes with a ton of standard features, including 17-inch wheels that have 225/60R17 low-rolling-resistance silica tires, Bluetooth connectivity, privacy glass, body-color door handles, keyless entry, and a 6-speed electronically controlled Sportmatic™ automatic transmission, to name but a few.
The EX trim picks up 18-inch wheels with 235/55R18 tires, LED turn signals on the side mirrors, backup warning system, rear camera display, roof rails, chrome touches, a rear spoiler, and more.
The top of the line SX trim is fully loaded with 18-inch alloys, dual exhaust, LED accent lighting on the headlamps, a unique grille, and a turbocharged GDI engine that delivers 260-hp.
