2014 Kia Sorento Gets 5-Star Safety Rating From NHTSA
The 2014 Sorento, Kia’s top selling CUV in the USA, has just been awarded the highest possible safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
Refreshed for 2014 model year, the Sorento scored outstanding marks in the frontal and side impact crash tests, whilst also scoring well in rollover testing.
Kia Sorento crossover vehicle rides on an all-new platform and comes equipped with a host of safety equipment and technologies that have been put in place to protect the driver and passengers.
The 7-seat passenger CUV was already a major player in the CUV category, but this 5-star rating from the NHTSA is likely to propel it ot even higher levels.
In addition to that award, the Sorento also received a Top Safety Pick award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety -IIHS.
Kia Sorento Facelift Details
The all-new platform is just the beginning, with a new suspension system and a V6 engine also among the additions.
The front and rear fascias have been redesigned and include new lighting elements.
There is the choice of either 17 or 18-inch alloy wheels, with the top of the line SX and SX Limited having the option of 19-inch wheels.
The center stack and instrument clusters have a bold new look and soft-touch materials abound in the interior.
Other additions include second row sliding sunshades and heated front seats, panoramic sunroof, a programmable powered lift gate, heated second row seat bottoms, and more.
The 2014 Kia Sorento was also the first vehicle from Kia that came with the next generation UVO eServices system with voice activation included.
