Another addition has been made to the current 2013 Kia lineup with the Sportage compact crossover making a welcome return.
The 2013 Kia Sportage returns with all the features that made it so popular in the first place: cool design, great power, class-leading fuel efficiency, and a ton of comfort and convenience features to boot.
It also comes with a trunk full of awards having snagged recognition from the United Services Automobile Association – USAA as a “Best Value” in 2011 and 2012. It also got the nod as the 2012 “Best Buy” by Consumers Digest, making it one of the heavy hitter in the super competitive CUV segment.
2013 Kia Sportage trim levels
The 2013 Kia Sportage trim levels retain all of those features that made it popular and adds in a few new ones for good measure.
The additional features vary by trim, with standard LED healamo accent lighting available on the LX and EX trims. Power folding side mirrors are standard on the SX, as is an upgraded leather steering wheel. Both of those are optional on the EX, as is a rather cool looking Blue Interior Package.
The previous model year Kia Sportage offered the UVO powered by Microsoft voice-activated infotainment system as part of the Navigation Package in the EX and SX trim models.
The updated Sportage also offers it in the Convenience Package and is standard for both of those trim models. Kia’s UVO infotainment system provides drivers with a world of connectivity and entertainment by allowing them to speak via hands-free phone, and use voice-activation to access music and create custom playlists.
More refined ride in Kia Sportage 2013
Drivers are likely to notice a quieter ride behind the wheel of the 2013 Kia Sportage, thanks in large part to the addition of rear dynamic suspension dampers, floor insulation and standard high-performance dampers on EX models.
There is also an added bonus on the LX trim with 17-inch wheels and low-rolling resistance tires.
The 2013 Kia Sportage EX also comes with a few nice interior features including cloth seating that features Clean Tex treatment. That means that the fabric will last longer thanks to the addition of anti-bacterial, anti-soil and anti-static properties.
The interior also features a low washer fluid indicator, floor console with cup holder. The SX and EX models also offer the option of a folding key for those models that feature keyless entry.
