Kia Venga Production moved to Slovakia

Kia Venga mini-mpv production moved from Czech Republic to Slovakia!

Kia announced today it has moved production of its popular Venga mini-MPV to Slovakia.

Located in the city of Zilina, Kia’s highly-advanced European manufacturing plant now produces the 2012 Venga, Sportage CUV and the family of cee’d vehicles.

Previously, Kia Venga was built at Hyundai’s manufacturing pant in Czech Republic, which can produce up to 300.000 new vehicles per year (same as Kia’s European plant).

The Venga MPV was produced alongside Hyundai ix20 mini-MPV, which shares the core powertrain technology with its sibling model from Kia.

To accommodate production of the 2012 Venga mini-MPV, Kia Motors invested more than 40-million Euros into modifying the production lines of its plant. In addition, the company will also add a third shift and open a second engine shop, which will result in the employment of 1.000 new staff.

Kia Venga made its official debut at the 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show where it was put on display as a Kia concept vehicle.

Since it was put on sale in 2010, the vehicle attracted thousands of new customers across Europe and won several highly-coweted awards.

Among others, Kia Venga won prestigious iF product and Red Dot awards for its attractive design, as well as best super-mini MPV award by Auto Express.
